Accepted for a Credit Card with Natwest so will I get a current account ?

I have just been accepted for a Natwest Platinum Card, but a few years ago I had a run in with Natwest, Nasty business regarding a Investment plan, got all my money back £50k and interest and compensation. But later when I applied for so much as a savings account with them I got declined instantly, my customer number got blocked and everything. There never was any debt or default or anything, in fact quite the reverse as they owed me.

So since the Credit Card has been accepted does this mean all sins are forgotten and I could apply for a current account or would the
AVU the department that checks applications after you submit them pull it up ?.

I also don't know if it means a new customer number now I have a credit card or not in which case it would be easier to apply as the old customer number no longer works.

The credit card and the current accounts divisions are quite separate so I wouldn't draw any conclusions. But I am intrigued why you would want a current account with Natwest when plenty of banks plus Nationwide are offering what look a lot better current accounts?
