Unauthorised payment from my current account.

Checked my bank statement this morning and found a small amount had been debited from my account last months (statement runs from 7th to 7th of each month) and my statement arrived 2 days ago.

Called the bank who have now blocked my card and are sending me a new one along with a new PIN. Gave me a reference number.

The statement has the web address of the site the payment was made to but I googled it & does not exists. Yet there is a shop in a different county to me which has the same name as the website.

If the bank googles this will they contact the shop with the same name to may enquiries? Or should I call them myself to see what they say - if they are that company (I would ask them if they do have a website to start off with).

I very much doubt the bank will be doing any googling :)

Instead I expect that they'll chase whatever company has requested the payment.

I don't use paper statements and my online statements seem to contain far more information - Merchant, Description, Reference, Type, Currency, Country Code, Transaction date, Posting date, etc.

You should not do anything. The fraud has taken place against the bank, not you, and unless you were negligent with your security information (e.g. telling someone your pin) then you are not involved. Any money missing is the bank's money, not yours, and therefore the bank will credit your account with the sum in question (they should have done that already).
