  • Hi

I am just popping in to say a quick hello and delare myself "away from keyboard" until Mayish!

We made a £426 overpayment this month to bring our mortgage down to £108'600 and we are hoping to overpay £400 per month untill May. The reason for the increase is to achieve the crucial 90% LTV as our house is valued at £115'000. We are hoping that we can increase our credit ratings and decrease our debt so we can get good fixed deal in May.

In May we also expect an addition to our family in the shape of a baby! Im pregnant and we are all very excited. The downside of pregnancy is that it makes me very ill, i get hyperemesis gravidarium. Ive had a close escape from hospital already due to dehydration. I am on sickness tablets which are good but quite literally knock me out (and i still am sick). Self care is hard, let alone caring for the children, I feel so guilty I cant do the things I normally do but DH is very very supportive. I dont think I will be around to post much, and i fully expect the food budget to take an hit as i cant cook from scratch as i normally would, but otherwise I will be still very much on bored our mfw journey!

Good luck to everyone on their journeys

  • It has been almost 18 months since I last posted, but I am pleased to say that we are still on track to be mortgage free by forty! I am finding it harder to resist recently, everyone around me seems to be doing the exact opposite as our family so I thought hopping back over might keep me on the straight and narrow and away from the shops!

We are currently on the SVR of 3.99% and we havent fixed.... We are waiting to fix in June when we should hit another LTV milestone and maybe get a better deal (and thinking of using independant mortgage broker, not sure if its a good idea or not!) My credit rating is reasonable but DH isnt so hot as he had more debts in his name when we hit financial trouble. We have been squeeky clean for years, but has we only paid our last debts in 2014, thats when some of the debts are marked as satisfied, so we have another 4 years before our credit files look clean.

We are overpaying over £441 per month, which is fairly huge for us and leaves us living very simply, but I like the challenge :rotfl:and we are both quite determined!

Its nice to be in the company of people who dont think I am crazy! :T:T:T (financially that is, im pretty sure that I am crazy in other ways, I mean I have four children under 6 years old... :rotfl:)
I am soooo happy to already spot some familiar names on some of the threads ive been reading tonight!

    Over and out :j
