Full refund of p&p when ordering online

I am sure that I have read online that when sending back to an online retailer a complete order that they have to pay for or refund return postage. Can anyone please tell me if I am correct? and if so where I can print this off from to show them? Many thanks and happy bank holiday weekend

No they don't have to reimburse you for return postage if it is a "change of mind" return, only if it is faulty. If you return the whole order then they do have to refund the initial delivery charge.

Sorry it's not the news you wanted to here, but hope you have glorious blue skies like we do at the moment to cheer you up.

If they failed to give you the information listed in Schedule 2 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations then they must pay for the return postage. If they did supply that information and as part of that information they said that you were responsible for return postage then you have to pay.
  • It was some wallpaper border which was not the same colour although same design as the picture they used on the internet pictures

If what they sold you does not conform to contract then they have to pay the return postage no matter what information they provided you or what their terms and conditions are.

How different was the colour? Did you say order blue but they sent red or did you order a certain shade of green and it came in a different shade?

You can't trust your screen for exact colours so unless the scenario is as above a shade or 2 out would be acceptable.

This is what the regulation's are for, to see it for yourself and if it's not quite right then you get to return them but you pay for the return.
  • I ordered a pink border with a specific cartoon design on. I received the right cartoon character but in blue colours

If you are returning the goods because they are not as described ie a totally different colour then they do have to refund you/pay for any return postage. Ideally get them to pay for the return upfront as it will make it easier for you. Make sure you screenshot anything from their site which supports your claim that you ordered a specific colour, just in case they change it and then deny what you are claiming.
