Benefit Fraud - interview under caution

You still there dippy?
My overpayments are on DWP's system as "Unrecoverable" - their mistake. I never received a IUC letter.0 -
I'm back. I quoted part of your post so it was clear what part I was referring to.
If your overpayment is unrecoverable then it's because your situation is entirely different to the o/p- yours being accepted as official error possibly.0 -
I quoted all of your post tomb50.... I just checked0
-
Surely just tell them your wife has been working and you informed them about it at the time and leave it that.
They might tell you you've been overpaid and that will probably come off any money you still get rather than them asking for money back, unless you aren't entitled to anything at all.
Don't admit to fraud if you haven't committed fraud. Don't try and be "clever" by saying more or less than you need to.0 -

My situation was exactly the same as the OP's. I received benefits I believed I wasn't entitled to. I just dealt with it differently to the OP.
As DWP seem to have acknowledged, there was no "possibly" about it.0 -
Did they acknowledge that your letter was received? Plus the o/p is referring to a council & you the DWP. Different organisations with different policies0

As a Magistrate now retired, I would want to know, what did you do with the money and can you prove you posted this letter.
If not, then my benefit of doubt would expire rather quickly.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Dippy,
Looking at how many times you've been thanked for your contributions, I think I'll bow out now while I'm still ahead.
You hit a sore point mentioning the council. Trust me, you don't want to go there - we'll be here all night
Best wishes.0 -

No need to feel that way. Rant if you need to - I'm sure myself and others can at least try to help you understand what happened. Start your own thread if it helps.
It's obviously bugging you.
Best wishes to you too0 -

Nice try dippy, you've obviously not come across my other thread re overpayments, council & DWP.0
