Interviewing for a Personal Assistant

            Oh heck
I am sorry.. this is why i switched from having a PA to using an agency the quality of the applicants in my new location just wasn't good enough.
From what you say an agency would be able to provide you someone to support you with all the tasks... you might get a 'team' of people but I find that works well for cover and playing to their strengths when asking for help with different tasks.
I would also suggest rewording your advert, be clear in it what tasks you need support with etc as your description above is appealing to me but a 'personal assistant/carer' would have me running for the hills.
I am sorry this has all become so difficult0

Had the interviews, and have offered one the job!
Yesterday I had a couple more applicants through, and managed to interview three people today. There was nothing wrong with the first two, they just didn't feel right.
Person three made me feel comfortable, we had lots of interests in common, and it just feels right.
So fingers crossed it works out.

Now I have to figure out all the systems/forms/contracts, when working with the slowest council in the world!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0

 its really straightforward.Thank you
Now I have to figure out all the systems/forms/contracts, when working with the slowest council in the world!
i use a payroll company with a managed account ( that way i have no dealings at all with the money)
the council pay the money direct into this account every 4 weeks, i send the timesheet to the company and they pay the wahe.
i then send the timesheet and the payroll statement to the council.
you will need liability insurance and i recommend a company called 'fish'.
also make sure that you dont pay out all of what is paid in. you need to build up a contingency for if you need extra help or there is any specific equipment that may help youl ( my social worker lets me buy all kinds of bits and bobs that help with my deteriorating sight)0
