Use "switch" site for the same provider....

Hello,

Odd question, but can you use a "switch" service by one of the comparison sites to switch to a different tariff with the same provider....some offer cashback on these switches but I wondered if it was with the same provider whether it would still apply....

I see sometimes it does say cashback for "new customers"...but just wondered if anyone else had tried it...

I have noticed that some comparison sites don't even show the alternative tariffs offered by your current supplier, obviously because, as you can't switch by using that comparison site, they can't get a rake-off.

I overcome that by lying about my current supplier and tariff, quoting a supplier I definitely don't want to switch to, then the comparison site will show you the best deal from your current supplier.

Then you can call them, and tell them which tariff you want to change to.

Yes you can - I've done this for the past 6 or 7 years.

Each time I switch to the latest nPower cheap tariff via USwitch or similar.

I've always received £20 to £30 Quidco per switch.
