Help! Where in Febuary for a long weekend? Venice, Prague or Barcelona??

Can anyone advise where is the best place to go in Feb for a long weekend, out of Venice, Prague and Barcelona?

We are trying to book a surprise Tripfor our Dad's 60th Birthday, will be 6 adults and 3 children going.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Kel

I wouldn't touch Prague with a bargepole, it's the favourite destination of hen and stag parties.
Lots more to see and do in Venice than in Barcelona.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

It is, but it's also very easy to avoid them! We went there a couple of years ago and didn't detect anything resembling such a group.

That said, its the only one of the three that I have been to (yet!)

There must be one hell of a lot to do in Venice then! I've certainly never run out of new things to do in Barcelona, and a long weekend would barely scratch the surface.

    What about Nice for Carnival.

Depending on when you plan to travel, you may catch Venice Carnival which runs until the 17th, but hotel prices go through the roof and the weather can be very unpredictable. If you want to travel in February, I would go as far south as possible and choose Barcelona. I have been there in December when it has been shirt sleeve weather during the day which you won't get in Venice and weekends in Prague are not what you want, travelling mid week would be better but likely to be bitterly cold

My recommendation would be Barcelona especially; when you are going with family / kids. There is something for everyone to do and explore in Barcelona

That is hardly true these days. Prague is a much pricier destination for those looking for cheap alcohol than it used to be. Tallin and Riga have claimed the stag crown now.

Yes, Prague will be very cold but just so pretty if you are there in snow. There is plenty to see and do and it is all walkable or there is an excellent integrated transport system.

My husband lived in Prague through his job for over twelve years so I have spent plenty of time there!

It's very easy to avoid the stag/hen parties in Prague. Just stay clear of the overpriced "Irish" bars in the centre. I'm just not sure I'd go there in February as it is likely to be very cold with a good chance of snow.

Depending on the ages of the children, I'd say Barcelona is the best option (if they like football then a tour of the Nou Camp is essential). Venice is more of a couples destination.
