When is it a good idea to change up £ ?

Hi everyone,

My first post on here ..

Ok so I'm going to the US in Dec but am thinking about changing up some spending money soon so as not to spend it ..
Is it wise to do so given the exchange rates etc.?
Appreciate your help (sorry in advance for being a dunce).

  • If I could second guess the exchange rate with any degree of accuracy I'd be rich.

If I was to speculate I'd say wait because I think the £ will strengthen so if I'm right waiting will get you more. But I won't put my money where my mouth is.

Who knows, if anyone could forecast exchange rate movements they would be extremely wealthy!
If it helps you save and set aside the cash then it's a good idea, go for it.
Or maybe you could get a new card which provides cheap or free foreign transactions, and put the savings onto it gradually thus building up your pre-paid credit.
