Differing prices from £200-£300 a year for a PO box, depending on what type of service you want - start here.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. Not defending the Royal Mail here but speaking as somone who worked as a Postman for a while (until my bone cancer crap !!!!!!ed that up), 2011 anyway. Even back then, mail delivery was taken extremely seriously. There were random checks on your mailbag when you entered the sorting office, any mail found in that bag (ie. not delivered) was gross misconduct and instantly dismissible.
I know that the Royal Mail is still one of those last 'institutions' where the union will fight tooth and nail over the tiniest issue but trust me, it's incredibly unlikely that the postman is the issue here. I've worked under that regime and the penalties for non-delivery of even spam mail are very severe.0 -

There is no need for any PO boxes

Are you absolutely sure that it isn't your carer who is responsible for the missing mail?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Have you contacted Royal Mail? If not, make a formal complaint about mail deliveries to your address at https://royalmailemailform.datasquirt.co.uk/ContactUs.aspx
That way you will have proof that you have reported that you have a problem - an audit trail. If any fraud does happen, you can prove that you have not been negligent (failing to exercise the care expected of a reasonably prudent person in like circumstances)0 -
As with Parva, I'm a Postie and non delivery and willful delay of the mail is still a dismissible offence.
I had the same problem on one of my delivery rounds. The "letter box" was the open bathroom window. The persons mail was being opened by someone else in the house and stashed under the bath. Luckily the person concerned was a posties daughters bf and he collected the mail straight from the frame.
Royal Mail will investigate, they will ask the postman/woman, put a note on the frame where your post is sorted, and if it is a recurring complaint in my office you take the mail to a manager and it is then sealed in a bag marked as checked then put in the bundle ready for delivery.
Contact RM again and ask about the progress of your complaint.0 -
Sadly, most here won't know what the 'frame' is but I totally understand what you're talking about.in_the_Cotswolds wrote: »As with Parva, I'm a Postie and non delivery and willful delay of the mail is still a dismissible offence.

For the uninitiated, it's a framework of boxes where letters and small packages are put into a certain order before filling the postbags (and yes, a postman doesn't just have one bag of mail to deliver).

Depending what area the O.P is in they may have T.N.T delivering their mail. Here in Manchester we have Royal Mail and T.N.T .The O.Ps bank may well be using the latter.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0
