I wonder if Edinburgh is where Bruce Banner lives? It seems to fit the description, you know where house prices crash, rents are very cheap, yet the local economy is booming. Yet for some reason landlords keep on buying beautiful expensive properties and let them out for peanuts. It has to be either Edinburgh or the land of magic frogs and pixies, my money is on the latter though.

Have you ever been to Edinburgh chuck?

Only twice, once for a long weekend and also day trip to Edinburgh castle, I've been to the races at Musselburgh plenty of times though. It looks like a nice city, last time I looked you could get a very decent house for not that much over £500k, but prices have increased significantly (at least down here) since then. But I don't like the Northern winters (I'm from Newcastle originally).

Here`s a good one http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-33565719.html You could play five a sides, or even curling on the floor :rotfl:or maybe rent it out as a resource centre for the disabled, they could wheel their wheelchairs easily enough up to the worktop for cookery class? Edinburgh, like the rest of the UK needs to hear a very large popping sound I`m afraid.

I have no intention of buying more investment property, if I was buying a home up there, this (for me) seems better value than that 2 bed flat that you linked for £500k:

It would be about double the price in Dorking.

You'll be looking at something like this if you ever buy (which you won't)

Your neighbours live here though http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-51271807.html Nearly 700k to be spitting distance from ned-land doesn`t do it for me I`m afraid, it`s a case of wrong postcode, wrong price. No sale :money:

Edinburgh festival is on man, why don`t you come up and do a stand up routine? You could tell them the one about prices always going up.......or do the "Not enough Land" sketch.....:rotfl:

I don't think crashy is lying about his rent not increasing for 16 years - he's got at least another 9 years of zero increases to go as well until his first parole hearing.

That explains why it looked good value to me, obviously I don't know the area, I'll have another go:

    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-53692013.html

I'd expect to have to win an argument with my wife though, she probably won't settle for a non detached house. Is this a nice area?

Yes. Cross Ferry Rd though and you get closer to the Trainspotting experience, also certain property near the Water of Leith is very prone to flooding, probably not this one though.
