Buyer want me to end auction early

Hi, Am new to selling on ebay but am unsure what is the correct thing to do here and is it above board?
I have a job lot up for auction and have just received an email from someone who said they will buy now if I end it early. What is the correct thing to do here?
I would prefer to leave it to run it's course but obviously don't want to lose the sale
The item has been listed 3 times with no bidders but only has 2 days to run so am doubtful that I will get any higher bids

If they have bid the amount they offered then end the auction now at that price.

That was my next question!!!!! How do I do this when they have not made a bid. (I don't have any bids at the moment)
If I was to accept, how would I go about it? I presume I would have to ask them to make a bid and then close early - is this right?0 -
hi, can you not revise the listing and add the buy it now price on? (assuming this is different to the starting bid) - that way if they purchase the auction ends, but if they do not use buy it now the auction remains0

I was under the impression that I can't use BIN as a new seller (only had 1 sale up to now) Would it be O.K to ask them to make a bid and then I would honour it and close early?0 -

That would work assuming the start bid is what you are happy to accept. If the amount you want is higher then even if buyer puts that amount in as a bid the auction will still only show the stat price.UsernameAlreadyExists wrote: »What would you do if you'd put it in the classifieds in your local paper?
How about arranging for them to come and collect & pay you then just delete it from ebay. Simple stuff really.
I don't think anyone has mentioned that item is to be collected? If it is then OP, it is that simple, tell them to come and collect and bring cash- then cancel the auction.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
