Churchill Insurance - Charges

I've just cancelled my Churchill motor insurance after receiving a number of quotes for £100 less than my Churchill one (was £240) - when I phoned to see if they could match they said my existing policy was actually too low and would be increased by £5. I was advised that if if left I would receive a £15 admin charge. I have now secured other insurance and when cancelling the Churchill one they said I was also due a £47 cancelling admin fee. I was never made aware of this fee by the operators - can they do this? (after much searching in the small print I eventually found the clause which notes the fee)

Cheers

Dave

Cancellation charges are the norm, and you will have agreed to them making a charge like this when first taking out the policy.

You look to have agreed the ts & cs without either reading them or understanding them.

If it's not too late maybe this isn't now cost effective, bearing in mind you won't get any NCD for the part year cover.

But don't pay the extra £5 premium if you decide to stay (assuming there have been no changes since the policy started)

If they are considering the contract entered in to they cannot retrospectively revise the price like such.
