What's up with these people? I had been with NTL for about 4 years, not a single problem with them. sometimes I wouldn't pay my bill for 2 months, just because didn't have the funds at the time or just forgot. Not once did I ever get letters warning me they were taking any kind of action for the payments, and never had any late payents fees added.
Then pops along Virgin. The 1st month I get my email to say my bill was due, I logged on only to find that they had no records of my email address, so couldn't do anything. Called them to be told, "Don't worry, we wll send you a bill and you can pay it like that" two days later, same time as their letter arrived I had been cut off. The letter wasn't a bill, it was to say I had been charged a late payments fee of £10. I couldn't belive it. I called again, this time I was met with an automated, voice activaing message. It asks you what you want to do and you give a reply, funny, nothing there for customer services though. I said "Pay a bill" The voice replyes. "Please enter you're account number" Reply in such a patronising manner says, "we're sorry, we can't find that account number, please enter your account number again" Again the same thing.
To cut a long boring post short and after £30 worth of late fees I wrote to their complaints dept. That was a month ago and still nothing. After many many calls and finally having the same email address I've had for years I get another email on Thursday last week telling me that my bill was due. On Friday I logged in and the bill was £39.88, so I paid £40. This morning I find my services were cut off again. More time on the phone and I get told the online bill must have been wrong as I had paid £10.42 short. I went MAD! I said, even though YOU messed up, you couldn't send another email to tell me, or even just call? Then the icing on the cake.....you've also been charged £10 due to late payment. I almost screamed!!!!!
Has anyone else had troulble with these to**ers? Also, does anyone think these charges are illegal as I ave never had any T&C's regarding late payments.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost £10 to send an automated letter.
Should have known not to stay with a company that doesn't go all the way :-;

That's not the point and you must know that surely?!!
If they charged you 50p and gave you a pat on the bum you'd probably just not pay any bills on time as 50p is nothing.
£10 and you might learn your lesson, which you clearly haven't despite having three of them!
Anything that has the word 'charge' associated with it these days people now think is wrong or illegal!
Edit to say SET UP DIRECT DEBIT!!!0 -
Firstly, paying by DD, Virgin seem to help themselves to your money, also, I didn't mention DD. I have the choice to pay how I wish.
Second, Timmne. Whether it be 50p as you say or £10. I have had no terms of conditions regarding a late fee. Not only is it a rip off, but you need to read the post properly.
The Customer service is a joke, the staff don't know what the person next to them is doing.
This is place to have a rant, that's what I was doing. Acehole gave me this link http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/ if you don't believe how bad these people are, go see for yourself.
People come here to rant and people are so quick have a go.Please do not feed the Trolls!0
