Best part-time jobs for students

Options
Does anybody have any tips on part time jobs for students, especially really flexible ones? My hours at uni are LONG and I don't feel I can make a commitment to a job every night, but I need to earn money somehow!

I've come across a site offering one-off commission-type jobs- does anybody have any experience with this?

So far it seems to be pretty good, I've earnt 30E in 3 days

Does anybody know any different? Could it be a scam to make me hand over my bank details?
Not that they'd find much in there :p

What's wrong with getting a job in a bar or restaurant like millions of normal students?

The main advantage is that it doesn't require actual work - you have to spread your referral link. i.e. if you are active on some forum, leave the link in your signature.

So I guess that's what you're doing with this post then, which is why I'm marking it as :spam: (I'm suspicious that the OP may be a spammer too, but I've given them the benefit of the doubt for now).

Have a look on your university's website to see what jobs are available; you may be able to get something there which fits in around your studies. I shelved books in the uni library; 2 out of 3 weekends, term-time only so not too onerous, and paid well too. I also worked for the student services department over the summer although I can't remember how I got into this; stuff like campus tours, stuffing envelopes etc.

Also see if your SU or Careers service has a jobs board of suitable vacancies.

    Hi,

I agree with one of the above, bar work in pubs and clubs is normally really flexible specially in a student area and on student nights.

I topped up my student loan as living in london and the maintenance just covered my rent let alone anything else!! as a lifeguard, its a bit of an outlay to begin with, it think there around £280 for the course now, the lifeguard work is very flexible and the industry is used to having main weekend student workers. I then did my swimming teachers qualification which was very well paid so could do just a couple of hours and get the same as a full 8 hour lifeguard shift!!

During my masters I was able to work full time as a receptionist and funded the course fully myself so no loan :j

    Good Luck xx
Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada

Spam isn't as easy as you think ;)
I did this when I still was in high school and it was pretty horrible.

My reply is not offtopic and is not spammy. Or you don't agree that passive income from different sources (i.e. refferal programs, cyptocurrency mining, bank percents) can buy a few extra pizzas?
  • Retail work - in particular id suggest Next which offers low contracts (most are between 3 and 10 hours), but has an online 'shift marketplace' so you can give away shifts that you can't do, if a deadline comes up for example, or pick up extra shifts for more money! On my six hour contract, most weeks I was able to get 20-30 messily.

Pay is good too, think it's up to 6.45 an hour now, plus bonuses for placing orders and collecting them, and offering directory cards and promotional offers. The stores get mystery shops too, and if you get a certain amount you get an extra 25p per hour worked in your wages, a certain amount gets you 50p p/h and I think 4 in a month will get you an extra pound per hour work. I usually got between 20 and 60 in bonuses per month.

Nah, I've reported all 4 as the spam they obviously are.
