All Credit Agencies Hold Conflicting Information!

Hello,

I am very confused, as the user name suggests. I realise that I have no credit score/rating by the way before anyone tells me, I understand that every lender assesses differently and so on.

Anyway, I recently applied for PCP on a Kia car and was surprised to be turned down. I have since accessed my equifax report to find no adverse marks at all.
I also applied for the statutory report online from Experian - same again, nothing amiss. Today, though, I signed up to noddle to find no less than 3 CCJs listed from early 2010, as well as a default from 2009! I'm not in dispute about these, I was under the impression that they were older, and had therefore dropped off of the reports, but it seems that there is some other issue? The finance company that rejected the application searched experian, noddle have no records of any searches except insurance quotations (millions of them thanks to the comparison sites, I realise these are only viewable to me).

Anyway, I suppose my question is: why are these black marks (so to speak) not showing on either my equifax or experian reports? And do I assume that all decent credit rates will be out of my reach until 2016 when all the records are wiped clean? I do have a fair amount of credit (2 well managed credit cards, a car loan, 2 catalogues and a mobile phone contract, quite happy with all of the above although the rates are terrible. Was applying for the pcp to replace the current car loan).

I am also confused as to why noddle have the default date listed as 2009, but only show data from 2011, is there a reason for this? I trust it will drop off next year as per the default date not in 2017?

One last query - both equifax and experian correctly list me as being on the electoral roll for a total of 4 years over this and a previous address, yet noddle have no electoral roll information at all? Are noddle just useless?

Many Thanks.

Were the CCJs and default at a different address to your current address?
And if so does that address appear on your experian/equifax files at all? If not that could be a reason they are not showing on those files.

Noddle only create a new version of your callcredit file once a month. In terms of the searches by the car finance company - may be worth just checking that the file you are viewing was generated by noddle after the credit application.

In terms of the noddle default - assuming the default date is correct it could be that the creditor only started to share data with callcredit/noddle from 2011. It is the default date that will determine when this drops off your file.

    Are the defaults/CCJs settled?

edit just seen the point about the electoral roll information. Is your address on noddle showing in a slightly different format to the electoral roll and experian/equifax? that could explain the issue (and could also explain the lack of CCJs showing on the other 2 if they also used the slightly different format).

or "It costs nowt to be nice"
  • They are not settled, no. Cut a long story short (please no judgement) they are in the wrong spelling of my name and are for council tax that was not paid by my ex partner, but somehow I got landed with it as he managed not to register himself everywhere. I was under 18 when we were together so not even legally eligible to pay council tax anyway! They are from a previous address, but that address is also on the Experian and Equifax reports. The current address is in the same format on all reports.

    Thank you for your reply..
