Pothole Claim

Hello!
I recently was traveling home from work, and struck a very deep pot hole. This buckled my wheel and popped the tyre. I put in a claim to my localcouncil, who advised me that they had passed the claim onto the contractordealing with some nearby roadwork’s who they believe were responsible for thehole.
Quite quickly, just a few days later, I received a letter asking for me to acquirea quote for the repairs to my vehicle. I took my vehicle to the local dealer, and they gave a quote for repairs for a new wheel, new tyre, replacement shockabsorbers (as one has cracked due to impact) and tracking. The cost of theserepairs, from the main ford dealer were for just over £500.
Upon receipt of the quote, again they were quite quick in their response andhave offered to pay in full the repairs to my vehicle as a gesture of goodwill, but only upon receiving a copy of the reciept
The problem is, I am unable to pay for these repairs upfront, I have not yetreplied to them as I am not entirely sure what to tell them. Moreover, if I didmanage to scrape together the money for repairs, it could take months toactually send the money out to me, companies are understandably not thequickest at sending out cheques.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks.

If they refused to pay would you keep your car off the road? If it were your fault what would you do? I don't think your cash flow issues are their problem.
I would acknowledge their offer, find the money (loan?), get the work done, send them a receipt and then nag them for repayment.0 -

1) See if they will instruct the repairer and deal with paying for the repairs direct
2) See if they will pay a pro forma invoice in advance to the repairer
(Ford have access to accident management companies, so maybe they can help you)0
