Unemployed Person living with student

Hiya, and I am posting this on behalf of my son.
He is a student and moving into a flat with his girlfriend. She currently does not have a job but is on no benefits currently. (so not signing on etc.).
She of course is looking for a job in the new area where they both will be living.
I am just wondering what help, if any, is she entitled too until she gets a job.
I think the main worry is council tax. My son will not have to pay because he is a student, but as his girlfriend is not, they are worried they will still have to pay it full (My son is too much of a sweetheart just to expect her to pay it all
).
Also there is rent, which I think my son is being expected to pay till she does get job. My son is a little older so has savings so is in a much better position currently.
Thank you for any advice.

Job seekers allowance - either £57.35 under 25 or £72,40 if over. But it will depend if she has any NI contributions or on joint income if not. Maybe some housing ben?0

Thanks for this. She is under 25. She has no NI contributions as far as I am aware.
My son has savings, will this in anyway interfere with this?0 -
a lot will depend on the amount of your sons student loans.
as she hasnt paid NI contributions, she will only ne eligable for income related HSA and they will take ALL household income/savings over 6k into account.

Thank you for this information. He is in a very lucky position to have over 6k in savings (a lot more in fact - looking in the double digits) and he is getting quite big bursary from his course too.
This is looking very doubtful now isn't it? but thank you so much for your information!0 -
They will get 25% discount for council tax as he is a student.
They might be better waiting until she has a job.0 -
Thank you. Hmmm, my son will need to move into the flat as he has a placement in the area but it is looking like the girlfriend may not be able to live there full time at least!!0
