Ok so I will ignore any letters from DRP. Parking Eye has been issued with the same letter therefore am I to believe they should take more notice and pursue the driver now?
Yes, exactly. In the mean time I have contacted the managing agents for the retail park and explained the situation and backed my complaint up via email today and sent them receipts to show money had been spent at the time of the incident. I hope they will cancel but don't want to sit back and wait.
Prudent!Should I be doing anything as I don't want to risk returning home from holiday to find court papers. Really appreciate everyone's help x
You are a long way from that happening, and in the very unlikely event it does happen sometime in the future then that proof of posting is your unbeatable evidence that you discharged any liability and they are pursuing the wrong person. Time to relax and enjoy your holiday!Je suis Charlie.0 -
I have just received an email from the managing agents of the retail parking agreeing to cancel the charge and stated parking eye will send me a letter confirming this. Hope to god this happens- don't want to get my hopes up but sounds promising x thanks for everyone's help0

So my question is are they lying? Should they now be pursuing the third party who's details I have already provided them with?
Most parking companies will continue as they have done for years. If they can get a chance of payment by lying, they will do so.
After all, there's good money to be had. Late last year Parking Eye Ltd was bought by Capita (who deal with TV licensing amongst other things). In preparation, a former director sold his shares back to the company for £4.5M; also two current directors have each had loans from the company of over £1M (and still owe most of it as reported in the last published accounts) and pay a mere 4% interest (cheaper than most mortgages).0
