Loss Adjuster Visit - anything I should do?

I have a loss adjuster calling out on Thursday and I was wondering whether there is anything I shold do to prepare?

I feel a bit frightened about all this - never made an insurance claim before and this one is a big one (£16k) House was ransacked whilst we were on Holiday on 1st of January and has taken this long for someone to call out.

Alot of the items were family jewelry and heirlooms which I dont have receipts for so I am worried what they will say.

The loss adjusters are Crawfords and the insurance company is Norwich Union.

  • Hi Commadus

You don't need to worry about preparing anything for when the loss adjuster arrives, just be as detailed as you can and if you have questions don't be afraid to ask them.

    Hope this helps

The only advice really is to be honest and open with the adjuster - but I'm sure you knew that already!

I have pictures taken at the time we walked into the house and everything from the police. Good to say the police have caught and convicted the criminal and I have all of that documentation from them - will they be interested in this? The criminal was on a spree so also made the local newspaper!

Anything you have to hand will be useful to the loss adjuster.

I'm glad that they caught the *insert word of choice here* that did that to you.

May the flies of a thousand camels infest his backside.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

All i can say is be prepared for a long wait
my claim with Crawfords and Halifax has taken 4 months so far and as i see it has not progressed very far.

    Dont expect a 'quick fix'!

    Good luck :rotfl:
