Car wrote off want it back Cat C

This is a bit long winded but here goes. On Sunday someone ran into the back of me and wrote my car off. Things have been pretty straightforward and the other party accepted liability.
My insurance is with Axa and the other party us Admiral. My car is a 2004 C2 and has done 90,000 miles. Less than 2 weeks ago it had a full service, MOT, timing belt, etc. When I bought the car about 5 years ago it was a Cat C write off with a front smash. This was repaired by an independent garage and VIC tested. The same garage has done subsequent services and MOT work.
I have dealt with the other party insurance company direct Admiral who appear to have been fair with things and have accepted a price for my car and asked for this to be returned to me. They have assessed my car as a Cat C write off based on the damage repair. This consists of a bump to the back buy it still drives and wouldn't cost much to repair. I guess the write off is based on the age and the fact I have also got quite high mileage.
When the car is returned what do I do then. It was a Cat C write off when I got it and it has been VIC tested. I still have the log book and the tax was bought 2 days before the smash. I know I need to ring my insurance company Axa to find out about my insurance but insuring it previously had never been an issue with it beings cat C. I am not planning to sell it just to get a repair done and drive it again.

I bet you have the smallest C2 in the world now with all this crashing.0

Haha . . . its a great car and I really want to keep it. £20 tax, diesel and I'd looked after it well. his insurance are giving me £1600 and car back which to be fair isn't too bad.0

Think I am sorted Axa carry on with my insurance as normal until December just made a note but it was a Cat C anyway. My car is being returned to me shortly just need to get boot straightened out.0

The financial damage was probably done with the first Cat C declaration. I'm not sure a second one can do much more harm?
And of course this does not concern you unless you are planning to sell it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Assume your car needs a 2nd VIC test?0

if you want my experience with these C2's a rear end shunt tends to crack/split the chassis just forward of the rear seats, and becomes an expensive nightmare to correct. sometime you get away with having the rear crossmember and boot pan and supports straightened but 60% of the time ive known the crumple zones to split open by the rear seats. same happens with Ford Ka's because their small car the impact ripple affect through the car causes more damage than cosmetic parts.0

Apparently not as I have the log book. Not sure if I need to sell it in future perhaps. Garage are going to inspect it properly but they did look at it briefly on Monday before insurance took it and should be OK just need to be able to shut and open boot properly.0 -

Will get this checked. Some bulging on drives wheel arch but garage that inspected it for insurance are driving it back to return it to me so I will ask them tomorrow.0 -
Apart from getting it checked over, you really don't have to do anything other than run it into the ground. With two write offs on a, "super-mini" it really doesn't have a future sale value, but well done on getting the car plus the monster payout; I'd stick a quid on the lottery with that luck.0

Yep I will be running it until it dies and saving the money to put towards another car at some point. I can't complain when I bought it as a write off and had it repaired and VIC tested it was only £4800 when I had it in 2007 and it had don't 25000 miles so I think I have done pretty well.0
