Interactive Investor: how long do fund dealing orders take to process?

Hi there,

I'm looking to sell some Vanguard fund units held with III. I can't find any info on their website about the cut-off time for placing orders. Does anyone know the latest time of day I can place an order for it to be passed to the fund managers the same day, or what pricing point would be used (that day's, next day's etc.?). Is the situation complicated by the way III holds its funds?
I have sent a secure message to III but don't expect a rapid response.

Thanks for your time.

    This is an unknown quantity.
I have traded at around 9am and got a same day trade.
Incidentally, there are sometimes delays with Vanguard funds because they are dependent on all markets being open on the same day.
  • Hi,

if you go to home page, scroll way down to bottom and click on Legal Terms, then share dealing, I had a look but jings it's a lot of jargon, so no wiser.

Used to be with HL, deal was done next day at 12.00, as that is when new pricing/valuation is done.

So, would mean if you place a deal now wouldn't be done until Tuesday, as Monday is a bank holiday.

Thanks. I've looked through the Legal Terms and, as you found, there's nothing definitive there. It does refer the reader to their Order Execution Policy which they claim is on the website. I can't find it anywhere. Anybody else found this?

I'm familiar with HL's policy, and also CSD's (CSD replied promptly to my enquiry with a very full explanation. If I get an order in by 9.15 am it will pass to Vanguard by 10 am, in time to catch Vanguard's revaluation point at 9pm the same day.) I'm looking for something similar from III, but not holding my breath!
