If I purchase AIM shares within an ISA do I pay stamp duty?

No for AIM shares, yes for FTSE100 shares.0

Agreed, they have been exempt since earlier this yearNo for AIM shares
For main market shares it is generally yes but with an exception - if the company is incorporated overseas and doesn't maintain its shareholder register in the UK there will be no UK stamp duty to pay. So for example Randgold Resources operates from Jersey, so you can buy without the half percent tax. Generally best to assume you'll be paying it though., yes for FTSE100 shares.
