PC WORLD will not refund my faulty laptop purchase!

  • But they already have 'repaired' it. :(

I'm getting frustrated because I'm only 18, first laptop I've ever bought, I don't know what I'm doing or what I'm entitled to or anything.

I wouldn't even know how to go about writing a letter to a retailer. :/
  • I doubt I would have much of a case with complaining about repairs not being completed within a reasonable amount of time seeing as 7 days is their policy. :/ It's so convoluted.

But you said the same issue has been re-occurring.

Therefore it has not been repaired. They have only attempted to repair.

As unholyangel said, if the laptop is still faulty then they haven't repaired it yet. And as I said, when you let them send it away for repair before acceptance occurs you don't lose your right to reject for a refund. You still have a good case here for at least a replacement (since they don't seem to be able to repair it). But you can't sit on it for too long.

OP ,IMO you will stand a much better chance at getting it replaced than you getting a refund.

Go into PCW and politely and rationally explain the situation, say you are not happy with it and that it shows it is not right, the amount of times it has been repaired.

A store wont want to lose the profit they have made from the sale, so if you show you are willing to accept a replacement, instead of a refund, then I feel you will be on to a winner. The art of complaining is keeping level headed, don't shout and scream and try and get your viewpoint across politely, but firmly.

A replacement is on middle ground, neither you or the retailer will lose out financially.
