PPI & Learning difficulties

Hello
I do hope someone might be able to help.
I am looking to claim PPI, however am dyslexic and although that doesnt mean im stupid it does create difficulties when it comes to understanding information.
I looked at the information in Martins article on how to claim and it does sound easy enough but as soon as i start to look at the basic information i could cry at how confused and overwhelmed it makes me.
I do not have any information i.e. account numbers, as most of the loans/credit cards where paid off years ago, although most were through my bank (LLoyds TSB/Black Horse); and when iv spoken to someone from the CAB about maybe them helping me, maybe advocating on my behalf, im just spoken to as though im stupid and they dont understand what im so confused about.
I have been considering going to a claims company but everyone keeps saying no as their a con, but i feel due to my difficulties i have no other option!
Can some please break it down even further or very slowly talk me through itor even point me in the direction of another agency that may be more helpful?
I have no one close to me that can help me with this and those who i thought might help (CAB) have been more of a hindrance then a help!

First and foremost, you don't make a claim.
You make a complaint. Youhave to supply evidence to up hold your complaint.
If they look into it and agree with you, then you will be given a refund of your payments of PPI.
What complaint do you have and what evidence do you have to back this complaint up.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Contact each company individually and ask if they will send you a complaint form.
Complete thses forms to the best of your ability. If you don't remember something, then say exactly that.
You will get a lot further being honest.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I recently had a letter from the bank saying i may have been mis-sold PPI with a credit card which i wasnt aware of and they gave me a deadline to complete the accompanying form (14 days from the date on the letter) which arrived a week after posting! Hence me seeking advice from the CAB.
This date has now pasted and im still none the wiser!
I know iv had one loan which had PPI mis-sold as i was on sick with work at the time of taking the loan so the policy was invalid.
I also had finance through DFS which was though Black Horse which had PPI on it which i didnt ask for because i remember arguing for 20 min at how pointless it was and only discovering it was on the poilicy when making the final payment 5 yrs later!
Iv never knowingly accepted PPI0 -
With regards to the Credit Card, phone the bank and explain that you are dyslexic and ask if you can do it over the phone, be honest as mcneff said and give as much info as you can.
If you had life cover, savings or a good sick package from your employer then use these as reasons for mis sell, show you had no use of this PPI.
With DFS, how long ago was this taken out and do you have the account number?.
Send a letter to them and
use the Single Premium as a reason for mis sell and the others I listed above, if they apply.
Send to this address.

With regards the loan, contact the bank in question and they can do it over the phone, use the reason you stated for this, if you paid the loan every month while on the sick, let them know this as it proves you could repay and had no need of PPI.0 -

Hi fantasticme,
For help & advice, you can get in touch with us on either 0207 649 9015 or 0800 151 0292. One of my colleagues will then be able to discuss the complaint with you to try to resolve it as quickly as possible.
In addition, a guide to PPI complaints can be found on our website here. There's also some FAQs on there which you may find helpful. If the PPI was with Black Horse as opposed to us, you'll find a link to their PPI complaints page on there.
Hope this helps,

I write complaints leaflets for a number of businesses.
A standard line in them makes clear that all that is needed to make your complaint is sufficient information for the business to understand what you are complaining about.
You can also complain by telephone if you prefer but then you have no record - although I suppose in theory you could e-mail an mp3 file.
FTR, I am dyslexic too - although my spelling mistakes are typos!0
