Hi
Current plan is to fly over for 14 days and rent a mustang or similar nice car -
Basically I don't mind what order I do things but I want to see san francisco and las vegas other than I'm up for suggestions.
I have some questions like:
Thanks for any advice
Billy
Hello Billy
You are covering quite a large area there and are running the risk of trying to do to much !! Have a hour or two with a blank piece of paper and right down the"must do", "really want to do's" and "would like to do's". Once you've done that, you;ll have a much more realistic idea of what you can and can't do.
One thing that I wouls suugest that you consider is getting an 'open jaw' plane ticket, rather than arriving/departing from the same place.
One possible itinerary that may work for you is
Arrive SFO
Explore SFO area without a car (we used a car and found it a doddle !)
Yosemite
Drive back to Moneray
Drive down PCH
avoid LA
get to San Diego
explore San Diego area
return your car
Fly To Vegas
Explore Vegas without a car
Fly back from Vegas
To San Diego0 -

We stayed just outside the city centre Hilton Garden I think it was, going towards the airport, hotel was way cheaper than staying in the city centre ones & the parking was free & plentiful, drive into the middle of the city was about 10 -15 mins or there were buses available as on route to the airport0 -
Hi
So I'm planning a trip on my own to the US it's something I've always wanted todo and have decided todo it and I've got a rough trip in mind and wondered what peoples thoughts and advice might be such as suggestions for places to visit or stay anything I should look out for etc just general advice.
Current plan is to fly over for 14 days and rent a mustang or similar nice car - I'll probably fly into LA and stay over for a night or so then start to drive down the west cost and visit a few places staying at motels and over 2 or 3 days end up at san francisco for 2 days or so and then go to Yosemite National Park then down to Las vegas.
As you can probably tell I need a few more ideas as to where I can go visit.
Basically I don't mind what order I do things but I want to see san francisco and las vegas other than I'm up for suggestions.
I have some questions like:
How much are decent hotels in places like LA, San francisco and las vegas? How much are motels likely to cost and how much spending money each day for lunches/drinks/snacks/evening meal/entry fees etc?
Also how much is fuel?
Thanks for any advice
Billy
We did a recent trip where we flew in Las Vegas drove to CA Then returned from LA, much less driving & the price was only about £20 each different than just a return to LA, we saved more in fuel & time than the £20 extra, you could also do the other way round or Via SF, but the LA flights always seem to be cheaper than SF0
