lynnejk - glad you had a good holiday.
Rather a big spend this week for us - £45.15 Have brought a few extra things as mum doesn't seem to be cooking at all now so are doing more meals for her than previously. Today I have done her a piece of gammon with some potatoes and veg, we are having chicken curry & rice but she wouldn't eat it as doesn't do spicy at all. Saturday she will be ok with some sandwiches and there is a portion of hm vegetable soup she can have and Sunday she will be here with us so probably meat & potato pie with an extra portion to take home (that's the plan anyway)
Got given a bag of plums today so will stew them down tomorrow and make some plum crumble also make the pastry for the pie and while I am in the kitchen probably make some more soup - good job there is one drawer nearly empty in the freezer.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Small spends for me today of £1.89 on lettuce and peppers. Also need some milk so another £1.49 to add later, when we go to te$co for new school uniforms. Will update signature now.
I have fajita omlette and salad to look forward to for tea, yum.
Have a good evening all.
Also bought bread and hair putty for ds's (6!) new style! £1.75 to add.GC Jan £200/£200.78 Feb £250/£156.07

Well I am finally up t date on this thread. I joined a bit late and then trued to catch up before I posted! We are over half way through the month and I am only now able to post feeling like I have caught up with everything.
I have been writing down my spends on a sheet of paper so I would remember so I am up to £111.93. Not too bad considering we had a big tesco shop last weekend which included 6 bottles of wine and £8 of chicken as we had guests over for dinner!
I am hoping to do a small shop this weekend and then hopefully two £40 shops next weekend to use up the vouchers that I am hoping will be in the paper on Thursday!
I haven't seen anymore morrisons fruit or meat vouchers so hope I haven't missed any!
Anyway question for you all.... My tomatoes on my one tomato plant are finally turning red. picked about 20 tonight and there is loads more! Any idea what I can do with them all that doesn't involve peeling them!Grocery challenge-

Right,I finally got around to doing a big shop. The fridge is full to bursting, the under-counter freezer is full, cupboards are full, fruit bowl is full :j.
Went first to Aldi and spent £50.20,then went to Tesco to do a "top-up" (only needed pizza!),and came out £74.15 lighter .There was no "frittering",but bought a few things either that can't get in Aldi (Vanish),or was on special(Flora light-bought a couple,Pitch bars for kids lunchboxes, shampoo, conditioner, lots more.......).Nothing will be wasted, and alot of the items will last for months-Vanish stain remover, shampoo, conditioner,)the plan now is to only do top-ups til the end of the month.
Total spent today is £124.35.
Total spent this month is £279.72/300
Really need to pay attention for the rest of the month if I am going to stay under-budget.

I visited the brand new Aldee, 5 minutes drive from home yesterday after spending a lovely morning catching up with an old friend. It is a lovely bright store with much wider aisles than the other one I used to go to.
I stuck to my list although a couple of things were unavailable like the 30 pack of crisps and smoked cheapy bacon. I also bought some GF crisps for me in B&M and 2 men's hair combs (finally tracked one down that wasn't £3:eek:) in Asd@ living.
We had an unexpected child free night last night as DS stayed over at DMIL at the last minute so DH and I treated ourselves to a DVD rental and a thai green curry from M*S. Also picked up some YS GF crisp bakes, YS cookies and some sweeties.
Total spend, after £5 new store opening voucher, £50.41.
DH and I had planned to go to the new aldee this afternoon but we had run out of so many things like milk, cheese and bread it couldn't wait. He will want to go and have a look this afternoon and get some beers for tonight.
DMIL has given me another set of vouchers so I have another £5 off £30 to spend this week so I am contemplating buying a bottle of brandy for Christmas cakes (different budget) to make up the spend. I want to try making GF tiramisu next weekend so will need some for that too.
Total stands at £271.14 with 10 days to go.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

£4.34 spent today between a local shop on Extra Special choc from Asd* and batteries and some YS bits from M*rrisons. Originally went out for paracetamol (forgot it), and cat food (which i don't include normally, as with five cats the total is normally through the roof as bulk buy from from Z** plus)GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £25.25/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Lunch for me and friend yesterday and a couple of things from Mr T's. Fabric softner, potatoes, pepsi max.... Total is around £25. Lost tesco receipt so don't know for definite.
REALLY need to get to shops tonight, but students are back this weekend so I just know its gonna be awful! Plan on doing a £30-£40 shop and using MOC. Fingers crossed I can stick to budget!
Kids want a takeaway tonight. We don't get them one very often so i'm thinking about it. Might try a "fakeaway" and let them pick what they fancy.... Tho its probably cheaper getting a takeaway!
