Hi All
New to the forum, and in need of some expert advice. I have been toying with the idea of the Airmiles Duo card. Would anyone recommend signing up?
Thanks

I was just wondering this as well. I got a letter a day or so from LloydsTSB telling me my Visa card is ending and being replaced with either standard mastercard, or mastercard/amex duo airmiles..2 cards..thing.
I've looked through the documentation, and unless I'm missing something in the small print - theres no benefit to staying with the mastercard at all.
That said, the airmiles amount you receive is very amusing. I've never been offered airmiles with other cards, but is this about standard for credit card rewards?
It doesn't seem like anything better than 1% really.
In their example, 525 of their duomiles whatsits gets you a child's annual legoland pass. Thats either £43 or £48 - we'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it's the £48 one.
So 525 = £48.
To get 525 points, at 1 point per £10 (on amex), you'd have to spend £5,250. Just ever so fractionally more than 1% cashback, on that basis.
Spending on Mastercard, at 1 point per £50, it'd cost you a whopping £26,250 to get your £48 back.
Thats less than 0.2% cashback.
Given their high interest rate, its not anything to write home about - unless anyone knows anything I don't.
15.9% apr either way.
Additional: looking on LloydsTSB's website, if you don't pay it off in full each month.. they have another mastercard also with no annual fee, for 11.9% instead of 15.9%.0
