Paris Trip

Hi - I have plans to travel to Paris and I was wondering what times are the best times to go to get the best prices? I did originally have plans to go October-November however due to the passport delays, my passport is unlikely to arrive before then. Also, if I was to book now it would be expensive especially for the Eurostar and accommodation, so I was wondering when would be the best time to go to Paris for a reasonably affordable trip?

Many thanks :)

I'm confused - I'm assuming you are a UK resident and a British citizen, if thats the case there are no renewal delays with passports anymore, so if you renew now you should have your passport back and be ready to travel by the end of September at the latest. Also, for France, if you are a British passport holder, you only need to have your passport valid for the duration of your stay.

On the Eurostar website there is high availability showing throughout most of October and pretty much all of November, for the cheapest return fare to Paris from London of £69 return per adult.

So you just need to add a hotel (check trivago, travelrepublic, hotels.com, expedia etc) for however many nights you want. Theres also the accorhotels chain, Ibis, etc

Why do you think its expensive to book now?

Good to see that you found your way here. ;)

Find your £69 return to Paris

Sorry - yes I am a UK resident and this is going to be my first passport which I am yet to have an interview for, which I have been informed (that the interview) will not be until the end of September. Therefore I don't (particularly) want to book anything as yet in case my passport won't arrive in time for the trip. I have never been abroad before so this is why this is all new to me.
And the expense is every time I visit each website the price increases. And with most places, the sooner you get to the date the more expensive it becomes and like I said earlier, I don't want to book anything at the moment without knowing I'll have my passport for definite.

Thank you for your help. :)

okay well I'd definitely go get your passport sorted out, and don't book any travel until you have it :).
  • As others have advised, wait until you have your passport before booking anything, just in case!
Although there are 'cheaper' times to go to Paris for travel & hotels the time periods don't always coincide. I suggest that you keep an eye on the Eurostar prices & on hotel prices & then pick a time when they coincide. In our experience Paris hotel prices go up over the Christmas/New Year period & then again over Valentine week. Either side of these periods is usually a 'low season' price but sometimes they are raised for any 'events' that are taking place or if it's a particularly busy 'business traveller' time & this can fluctuate between hotels or arrondissements (areas) of Paris.
So use the time you are waiting for your passport to keep an eye on the Eurostar website & the hotel websites.
