Power shower versus pump
Comments

I looked at both scenarios a couple of years back and installed a power shower (Mira Sport 9.5W, £130 at the time) which goes directly off the mains... easy to install by qualified electrician/plumber £200, who also put in a separate consumer unit for isolation. It is a brilliant shower and just what I always wanted !!!
I'm on a water meter as I live alone and never had high bills.... my water bill is only £90 a year but I don't shower every day.
A large benefit is not having to install a pump somewhere which is just another item to potentially fail.0 -
I had to replace the shower pump a few months back when we moved in.
I have a hot water cylinder and a loft tank. The water flow was so slow due to the pump not working (Salamander). Did a bit of research and bought a Stuart Turner (2.0 bar pump) and its been working great.
The only thing to bear in mind is - the pump is noisy and produces vibrations - i have used one of those vibration absorption mats and has helped.
Also, the pumps can empty the tanks quickly if you take leisurely shower.“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu
