Motor insurance and no claim bonus protection

I need a bit of advice on renewing my motor insurance. I made my first ever claim on my insurance last year. I have 9 years of no claim bonus with Admiral (but the policy says maximum NCB is 5 years). When I made the claim, I was told my NCB would not be affected.
So when I use moneysupermarket.com to get a quote for new insurance, what should I say for the question
'How many years no claims discount do you have?'
Should it be 9 or 0?

What does your renewal say?
(Assuming your claim was fault, and you have only lost a single fault "life" of your protection, then although no bonus would be awarded for the current year then you should have 9 years still)0 -
Thanks. Haven't thought about looking there. It's indeed in the motor renewal confirmation and says it's 9 years.
(They have increased my premium to what I got quoted on moneysupermarket for 0 year NCB. That's why I was a bit baffled).0 -
The no claims is protected but your premium increases because of the accident. They say your likely to have several more in a short space of time.
Thats their excuse anyway.
Just make sure you declare the accident for the next 5 years or whatever their limit is.
Some only ask for the last 3 years but that doesnt mean it will be any cheaper.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
