Default on HSBC Overdraft

Hi guys,
I'm just trying to sort my finances out going into my third year of university. I went to apply for a small extension on my overdraft to help cover a deposit on a flat the other day however I was denied due to a problem on my credit report.
Since then I've signed up to Equifax to check the problem out and found out that on a previous HSBC account I held I've owed them £65. I'm not disputing it, I moved house and changed my bank account in the process failing to tell them so I was completely unaware of the money owed.
I have no details left of this previous HSBC account and have been with Halifax now over three years. I want to get it resolved however I have no idea where to start, who to contact, who to pay etc? I've tried googling for specific answers though I haven't had much luck.
Thanks

Hi
If the entry on your credit file still shows in the name of HSBC then they are the people to contact to arrange payment.
If the entry on your file is in the name of a debt collector then they are the people to contact.
Either way there should be an address to write to on your credit report. Or it could be worth trying to telephone HSBC to ask them if they still hold the account.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
