How long does it take to get accepted/rejected for PIP?

I have learned that PIP is likely a better idea for me - I'm currently claiming ESA, soon for the final decision to be made (I am looking to be placed into the support group).

How long does it take, from the time you call the Jobcentre, to be accepted/rejected for PIP? Supposing I had all the medical evidence ready from the start.

I have posted this on your other thread -
People are currently waiting 12 months or more to be awarded PIP. Unlike ESA, no money is paid while awaiting a decision although the money would be backdated if you were to be awarded PIP eventually.

That sounds like a massive hassle - would I be able to carry on claiming ESA whilst I waited for the outcome of the PIP decision?

Yes, ESA and PIP are different benefits and it is completely possible ( and quite common) to claim both at the same time.
