so it seems you are unlucky in paying for a council ticket yet parking on private land (this has come up a few times before on here)

but it is still appealed using the flow chart in the NEWBIES thread

Hang on, have I got this right. The OP parked and bought a ticket. Whether it was from a Council machine or a private machine has not been established, he bought a ticket, and displayed in in the FRONT of his car.

A PPC has ticketed him for NOT displaying a ticket and as evidence produces a photograph of the REAR of his vehicle.

Is anyone else as bemused as I am about why the type of ticket he bought has any signfiicance?

obviously you didnt read guys dad post where it clearly says you can only pay by phone, there is no ticket (although he appears to have bought a ticket from a different company and placed it on display)

You are right, I missed the "pay by phone" part as it is an alien concept to me.

One question remains, how do you pay if you do not have a 'phone?

You pick one of the literally hundreds if not thousands of council spaces nearby and use their ticket machines. Or, if you can't find a way to pay, you don't park in one of these 30 spaces.

OP made an honest mistake as the signs were woeful and should appeal on that point using the photos supplied as well as GPEOL et al.

I would like to thank everyone for the advice and help as I submitted the letter exactly as shown on the link and have received back today a letter from CEL telling me the Notice has been cancelled.

So for anyone else in this position follow the instructions on the link and hopefuilly you will get the same result.
