Kitchen reviews... Ikea?

Hi,

Thinking of replacing my kitchen (it's 16 years old & very very dated) and I have been looking at Ikea. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences they can share? Did you use their fitting service? Any comments on that?

Thank you- i know you are a savvy bunch on here so best place for a fair response!

There are lots of kitchen posts, once you start searching.

I've had 3 Ikea kitchens, will be on fourth, in the next place Im buying.
good value, all the bits were as they should be, the on line planner is a bit clunky, but gives lots options.

Even appliances are reasonable value, as you get 5 year warranty now.

But get independent to fit it, to save a big chunk of £$£

The only thing I don't like about my Ikea kitchen is the stainless steel sink, we didn't buy any of the appliances from them

I love my Ikea appliances. Great value, no problems at all and long warranties.

My kitchen winds me up now. Whatever the doors are made of seem to soak up grease from fingers so it needs proper elbow grease and plenty of product to get it off. It's nearly three years old and the door refuse to line up anymore as well which is grating. I had them straoghtened again earlier this year. Thankfully we're moving so I don't have to look at it for much longer.

I think it provides value for the price but I won't buy another one.

They are good in that you can customise it a lot more than most other kitchens and get exactly what you want. The budget range is a pit basic and not going to last too long but the mid to high end ranges are good.

The biggest downside for me is that they use their own sizing so if you change your mind and want new door fronts in a few years time you can't just go to any kitchen supplier you have to go back to ikea.

I was debating getting an Ikea kitchen in the future. Has anyone used their installation services and if they are happy with the work ?
