Jobcentre plus letter while caring for partner

Received a letter today

Dear xx

you are currently claiming Income support through the jobcentre plus .As such you are required to attend for a review of your personal circumstances , and discuss support available to help move you forward toward employment . An interview has been arranged for you with xxx

Your adviser will discuss how we can help improve your chances of finding work , now or in the future .We can also advise on training available and any child care support which may be applicable. We need to validate that you are getting the correct benefit you are entitled to and that you are receiving all the support on offer from the JCP

YOU MUST ATTEND THIS INTERVIEW
Failure to attend may result in your income support payments being affected .

I currently care for my wife 24/7 what is this letter about or rather has anyone recieved similar or the same as ever i always worry just hoping its not yet more crap on top of my crap life :(

Any help advice gratefully received .

  • It happens to everyone who is the partner of an ill/disabled person. Called a work focused interview & you do need to go. However, you just need to state that you are a Carer & how much time this takes up etc& ask them to make a note of it on the system. That's all we did & so far he's not been recalled.

    its a work focised interview.
donr wirry... they arent going to try to force you into work.
its just a chat about what type of work you may be interested in/ may be able to do in the future.
everyone claiming 'out of work' benefits has them from time to time ( except in a few circumstances)
  • I note they have not asked me to take any ID or anything else with me is this normal ? Thanks for the reply .
