Basically it's the colonies plus Austria (mistaken for Australia perhaps?)

So London's more influential than us...

A Northerner...neither happy nor influential. Poor sod.

I preferred living in Toronto and Sydney to Melbourne, but they were all fantastic places. I wonder if they factored in weather under environment.

If they did then I'm buying the warmest coat I can find and heading to Helsinki! The weather's lousy I understand.

I rather liked being up north too - my time in Manchester was brilliant and I have very fond memories of the place. Top town, top people.

I had a few laughs in Liverpool too and hope that the proposed super-link from Liverpool-Manchester-Leeds realises the amazing potential up there. Big hopes for the region.

How did they compare to Melbourne or Toronto?

Leeds is okay actually, before we bought our flat (in Ripon) we were renting in the actual centre and we quite enjoyed it.

We are thinking about moving at the moment, but wonder what it will be like back in rural Wales now we are used to things being much closer.

The only one of those cities I have been to is Toronto. It was nice and livable but I have to say it was very dull.

    This:

pretty much put me off Vienna, Austria, and Austrians forever.

What i learnt from that movie was that if someone in Austria invites you to their house, don't go.

You know what? My partner would love us to find out. He's training as a radiographer right now and fancies moving to Canada for a bit when he's qualified. I'm ambivalent. Open minded, but I love living in London so much. I really, really love this city. Can't imagine Toronto would be as interesting, but hey - see what pans out.

I always remember Austin (TX) coming top of these surveys.

Toronto is boring.........but Vancouver is great.

Any city where you can ski in the morning, and swim in the sea in the afternoon has to be a great place to live.

And the other great thing about living in BC is that the accent isn't anywhere near as annoying as the Canadian accent is the East/Central part.
