Credit card recomendation?

Hi,

I'm hopefully going to pay of a loan early next month which is going to clear out my savings. I'd like to get a credit card as a 'just-in-case' I have a large unxpected bill so I don't have to go into an overdraft.

Can anyone recommend a card that will basically lie dormant?

Thanks in advance,

Suz

Why lie dormant? One possibility is an Egg Money card, use it for all purchases, clear it every month and get a bonus of cash back each March.

I prefer to use cash to pay for everything if at all possible, it forces me to stop and think before I spend. I'm usually really good with my pennies but credit cards would make it too easy!

I agree that cash can be king and often you can get a discount by paying cash but as long as you can be strict with yourself there are many items that have to be paid for such as car insurance, house insurance etc. which if paid for by a cash back credit card can bring a nice little bonus each year.
