HDF for kitchen doors

We have had a local company come & quote us for a painted kitchen. The doors will be HDF (the carcass is MDF)

Are HDF doors good? Does anyone have any advice to offer on this?

I prefer to buy cheap and quality HDF in Russia - they suggest the most reasonable wood. The delivery is fast and also cheap. Just google 'dmanufacturies'

Just my penneth worth - but an MDF carcass is going to explode at the slightest exposure to water in the joints: unless sealed at all points (very unlikely unless you specify that the fitter does this).

Chipboard carcasses are not much better but won't expand at the same rate as an MDF carcass would - steer clear if you can.

And to chip in my penny worth, I maintain savvy folks after quality, long life and durability should not have mdf doors or drawer fronts in their kitchens.

It was resurrected yesterday by a spammer, I clicked the button as no doubt did others. That post has now been deleted.

I agree with Ruski about the advice still holding true, which is why I added a thought. Indeed only yesterday there was a thread raised about poor quality kitchen drawers and doors. These are likely to be mdf, so the warnings and advice are still current and are also topical.
