Benefits when off work to care

Wasn't really sure which board this belonged in, so if it's the other one then feel free to move it.

I am going into hospital next month for approx two weeks, when I am released I will need constant supervision/care for at least two weeks, possibly up to six.

My mother will be caring for me at this time. Now I know you can get leave from some employers to care for a sick child, but I'm not sure if this would apply? I'm 19 but still in full time ed and getting CB and CTC (if that helps).

Or does she have to take her holiday allowance to look after me?

Should be entitled to unpaid carers leave from employer as minimum, up to the employer how long that is. One of my colleagues is just returning from 9 months off so he coukld care for his mother. It is up to the employer if they pay for it or not at the moment.
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

So she's better to use her holiday allowance? We can't afford to not have her wage in the household.
