Escalated PIP Claim?

Could someone tell me what having my claim escalated by an ATOS manager entails, basically I applied about 5 months ago, have sent in letters from various people (GP etc) and have heard diddly squat back despite repeated calls. I have a progressive neurological disorder amongst other things, result is I am swiftly becoming more disabled and am now and forever in a wheelchair etc and have brain atrophy and am pretty much falling apart So anyway hubby rang ATOS yesterday and asked for a callback from a manager, got a call from one this morning and he said he had looked at the claim and escalated it but we have no idea what that actually means!

My MP is also involved but getting a straight answer out of anyone is impossible and we are in limbo while we wait for various hospital appointments and to know what our financial situation is.

So has anyone had their claim escalated and what happened?

From memory, there are several layers of escalation.
(this was from rightsnet - I can't find a source now).
These go from 'we'll bump them up the queue a bit' to 'Oh my god, it's in the daily telegraph, do it tomorrow'

We've just had a letter via our MP saying 'whoops it's been 6 months and 10 days but we promise we will look at it soon, blah blah excuses excuses'

So it seems escalation in my case means they have dug my claim out from under their boxes of post-its and bics and will possibly look at it sometime before next summer....

Essentially it was a roundabout way of them sniggering whilst repeating the mantra 'lessons will be learned' :(
