Please help - Collect +

Hi,
I have sold some items on Ebay and worked out the cost with Royal Mail either 1st, 2nd class or tracked.
I've just noticed 3 of my buyers want Collect +.
Apart from the fact my printer is down, do I HAVE to send them the way the buyers have requested?
Thank you

If you did not offer Collect plus then buyers can't insist on it. It seems rather odd though that 3 buyers have asked you, I've never been asked - so just make sure you have listed with courier as an option.

  • Having just checked the listings, some of the items, inexplicably, have collect +. I have no idea what happened. The majority of the items were all Royal Mail.
  • It says 'Buyer Selected' if that's any use?

You probably used collect plus once and have it left on your selling template.

Unfortunately that leaves you in a tricky situation, without a printer you can't use them anyway. All you can do is email the buyers and offer to send it via Royal Mail tracked (or signed for) and pay the difference in cost yourself. If they really don't want that then try and print labels out at a local library or find a friend with a printer.i wouldn't just change the postage without asking buyer first.

It just means they have selected an option from the choices offered on your listing.

It certainly sounds as you may have.

To check, try and relist the item, scroll down and check the postage options, it will tell you for sure, then exit without relisting.

Most buyers will be happy for you to use Royal Mail - provided you pay the difference yourself.

The other way round is normally a problem - when they select Royal Mail and you use a courier.

In future when using couriers just put 'other courier' and it more or else covers everyone.
  • Thank you for taking the time to reply.
This is the first (and probably last) time I've been left to post stuff.
OH can do it in future!
