PPI question

Recently wrote to RBS regarding missold ppi, they have come back to me saying that they can find no record of PPI being sold. I had ppi with all my RBS Scotland loans. I did not have any details of any of the loan numbers but the bank has done a search and listed all the loan numbers. The ppi was included a point of sale on all my loans. How could they manage to find details of the loan numbers but not the ppi?

Do you have any documentation that proves it?

When you wrote to them, did you do a DSAR (data request) and enclose payment for £10? It's possible the team who answered are front line staff and can't see legacy files.

If you don't have records, send in the DSAR request (details on the stick post on this forum) and see what they have left.

Unfortunately if they have nothing and you have nothing your complaint is over.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Was it definitely PPI sold with the loans? sometimes they sold life insurance instead of PPI. Have you got the credit agreements and any associated letters sent? If not, request the DSAR.
