Uni - College Advice

Hi all need some advice on a few things.
Loans
I am starting a college course in September, once I finish it I can go onto uni what I plan to do. I want to know can I take a loan out for say £3000 to cover college cost, then when I go to uni tell them I need another x amount to pay for uni does it work like that? or do I need to work out how much I would need in total for uni and college and ask them for that amount?
Jobs
I also want to get part time job but would like if the job was working late. Like 5 to 11pm any idea's for jobs so far got Tesco.
Uni
The course I start in September leads on to uni but it takes 5 years. I have also applied for the course direct To see if I can get straight onto it. The college course a lot the material I already know, so was hoping I could get onto the uni course. I got a reply from uni saying my application was in clearing what does this mean?
Many thanks, Hope that all makes some sense..

AFAIK you can only get the Student Loan for 'higher' education, ie university level. If you say what qualification the college course leads to others may be able to advise you better. Also how old are you? (That affects what you may be able to apply for, not just being nosey.)Loans

The main time to apply to university, through the UCAS system, is in the autumn/winter of the year before. So to start university in 2007, most people have applied already, and places have been offered conditional on 'A' level results. 'Clearing' deals with all the late applicants, like yourself, but as I understand it, nothing happens between now and the 'A' level results being published. At that point the universities know how many people they've got on each course, and how many spaces they've got left. If it's a popular course you're interested in, you may not have a very good chance, especially if your current qualifications are borderline. The course I start in September leads on to uni but it takes 5 years.
