Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

  • Morning I_A,
I hope it's ok to post on your diary, I've been reading it and I think it's amazing that you've accomplished so much so quickly!
I just had a thought about the wall chart - I have three kids, the eldest will be 15 in a couple of weeks, but since they were tiny, I've used the wall in th kitchen as a permanent height chart. I started when they were about the same age as your children, and now the girls are taller than me
It's lovely to have it, you can really track the growth spurts and see how they slowly crept up! I also outlined their handprints the first day, and it's fun for them to see how they've changed.
I just used a magic marker to mark their height, name, date and age, and updated it every six months. Now that the youngest is 10, there are plenty of marks, and takes a bit of time to make sure we don't lose anything when we paint, but it's a fabulous record to have!
We also have records of their friends at various stages, because they would beg to be on it too!
I don't know if you plan on staying in your current house for long, but if you are, it might be an idea for you:confused:
Best of luck with the Egg card, you're soo close:T
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Not sure if the housing association would be too happy about that ;) It's a great idea though! :)

  • B*gger b**ger b*gger... lol
Why does something always come up that means we have to spent more than we planned? Ste split a drumstick at practice so we had to buy a new set.. bye bye £8
Then we needed petrol as the tank was literally on the red... bye bye £10..
Got Ste's present... £9.99 over budget....
Then we just thought 'screw it' and got beer and a chippy.... bye bye another £10...
Needed milk this morning plus no sandwich stuff for Ste... bye bye another £5! :wall::wall::wall::wall:

*sigh* so all in all we have £251.32 in the egg fund. It does put us short for paying off egg as well..

    £251.32
    £83.90 ste wages
    £13.57 (?) tc
    £7.50 quidco
    £27.60 my wages fri
    = £383.89 on fri.... :wall:
so we're £108.02 short.... looks like the £100 that 'dad' wants to give us will be needed after all. :wall:
It always happens.... We've got money spare so we spend it... and then something happens which means we end up short!

    Ah screw it. lol

Please dont be so hard on yourself you have come along way and surely now that you are working you are allowed the odd treat. Also don't forget how small your debt is now compared to last year.

Is there anyway you could get some of the money back you lend your friend?
