With SS what it could be is simply your age when you first fell pregnant... I've worked in partnership down here with the teenage pregnancy team at the local council, and if you were 19 when you first got pregnant you would have fallen under them - nothing to worry about though as the people down here admitted, 19 year olds were put on thier 'list' as they were officially teenagers, but as 19 is classified as an adult in every way they never really did much (they had more than enough work trying to help the 13 year olds!)

I find it curious that once you get on the list, you never get off...

It's only a guess of mine, based on what colleagues have said - though with the data protection act you could ask for a copy of whatever information SS have on you (though I think you have to pay for this!)

IA - I guessed that's what you'd be worrying about, hence my suggestion for your age! Remember - if someone did say something to SS, and they've not been in contact with you, it's because it's absolute rubbish and they know that without even talking to you! However, due to the extra recommendations brought in as a result of the Victoria Climbie enquiry I should imagine that all SS depts keep all the records now.

I am sure no one has reported you for anything. For one thing i would assume if they had SS would be obliged to follow it up so you would know about it. I was assuming it was because you worked in nursery before. Fingers crossed you get the go ahead soon as it would be fab timing to be able to start at the beginning of the new session.

Ooo - and just thought - when you were working with children before did the nursery ever have to contact SS because of concerns about a child? If so, if you had regular contact with that child you might have just been one of many names on a report that was filed.

From everything I know about you from this forum you appear to be a brilliant, loving mum, so please don't worry!

I was working in the nursery before I went on maternity leave for about a year and a half but was never knowingly included in any cases. In fact I didn't actually hear of any cases at all! We had a little boy do some sessions who was under social services care but other than that nothing..
