  • Just had a call from envirophone. I signed up through quidco and sent my old knackered phone to them the other day. They said that they'd recieved my phone and it looks like it's worth £8.93! Wooo bonus! Plus should get another £1.49 through quidco for the transaction.... :D

If the big man had signed a little card or a photo of himself for you, you could have sold it on e-bay.......or even photocopied it and sold it many times over. (I once bought a picture of a signed photograph of Audrey Hepburn, so there could be a market :rotfl: )
  • Been chatting with ste about the possibilty of me returning to work. Just called tax credits and went through the scenario if both the girls went into childcare with my starting full time from next month working at Ste's place and we'd be looking at..

    ste wages 940.41
my wages 940.41 (like I said rough est)
tax cred 1284 (based on 4 weds month) (£321 a week according to tc)
    child ben 120.80
    = 3285.62

    - nursery 1249.50 (Called up a local nursery!)
    - bills 850
    - food 200
    - petrol 50
    = 936.12 left over. 11.gif

obviously it'd go down a bit in april but I used the entitled to website which said it'd go down to approx £294 a week or £1176 a month....

    :eek::eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

That can't be right can it?????

IA- did the tax credit money include the childcare element (eg money towards nursery/childminder fees). You get slightly more tax credits (roughly an extra £10 a week) till babys 1st birthday.

After easter(ish) next year Ashli would be entitled to 12.5 hours free nursery per week, (x amount of weeks a year) which would reduce childcare costs.

ahh childcare vouchers can be used to help pay for a childcare place whilst you study (that's what I used, combined with the funding for 3year olds). Unlike tax credits they do not require both of you (in a 2 parent household) to be working at least 16 hours a week to qualify for help. They can have an impact on tax credit entitlement and other stuff though, so look carefully into it first. There is a long thread about them on families board.

yes it did... child tax credit and the childcare element of working tax credits....
just did another quote on the tc website for if we were earning 28k combined and it said up to april we'd get 7348 which equates to about £1048 a month when we were both working full time

You would both be able to get childcare vouchers up to £240 per month which are deducted before tax and NI and as said will effect your tax credits.

However, I think that it works more in your favour the more childcare you pay ~ if that makes sense.

Look into it fully before you commit to anything (G*D~ thats like teaching my grandmother to suck eggs isnt it )
