Fined for no insurance
I have just recieved a letter from Collectica for a debt of non payment of court fines. I paid it as moving and was worried it would affect this. The fee was £640.00 It turns out I have been prosecuted for no insurance back in 2013. All correspondence has gone to my previous address so I had not known anything about. I was however fully insured all throughout last year I never had not been since I passed in 2000.
I moved out in July last year and lost my log book, I filled in a form with a cheque and sent it to the DVLA. I moved again in January and found my old logbook and remembered that I hadn't received the other back. I spoke to DVLA they hadn't received and I sent it off to them and had it back in March. The court date was May so I dont know why my new address was not picked up.
I have sent a letter to the DVLA enforcements with last years certificate and also the corresponding letters for each house move. Do you think I will be let off and have the fees reimbursed as I was insured?
