I don't think crossing education boundaries is an issue as DD looked at sending GD1 to her old school which is just over a boundary I think (most of her primary school friends are going there - primary school is closer to DD's old one, but GDs were already there before they moved house last year and there wasn't a primary school closer to where they moved that had space for GDs 1&2). But the council only pay bus fares if the closest secondary school with a space is 3 miles or more away - her closest is just over that, but DD's old one is more than twice that. And as DD is on benefits she'd struggle to pay it for one, and has another due to start high school in two years. So the bus fare issue was the deciding factor, and GD1 didn't get a choice.Cheryl0

cw you are right, transport costs are a big factor in choosing schools. My DS had a free bus pass until he finished year 11. Now he has just started year 12 in the same school I am paying £176 a term for a pass. The only plus is that this pass covers him for any bus journey throughout the whole county, so he benefits even in his leisure time. So, all those holding a free school bus pass count your blessings!
And talking of blessings, look what the cat dragged in....NSD number 4!!!!!!One life - your life - live it!0
