Looking to replace 2 old exterior pir lights which keep blowing, 6 bulbs replaced this year alone, and was wondering if solar lights would be an option, and if not solar good replacements which are energy efficient. Live in Scotland so obviously not the sunniest place. Any opinions would be a help. Thanks in advance
To everyone at Ward 40, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, from the specialist to the tea lady, many thanks for everything.

For solar lights, you would need to place the panel on a south facing wall.
Notice that Lidl have some PIR solar lights on sale just now.

I have a brilliant solar light which I can highly recommend.

If the lead is long enough, that should be a good option for you. I have done something similar with the light on my north facing side. The Astron64 has a 5m lead, and it really provides a very bright light. One from Lidl just a bit shorter. Have no idea what the Lidl light is like, but has a 3 year guarantee, so maybe worth a punt at £50 for two.
Forgot to say that mine is around 3 years old now, and absolutely no problems whatsoever.0
